This text addresses the question as to whether women can be ordained to the diaconate based upon St. Thomas’ discussion of the unity of Holy Orders. It discusses the nature of Holy Orders considered in themselves and as to whether Pope John Paul II’s document Ordinatio Sacerdotalis would in some way apply to the women regarding the diaconate.
