Description T41U5XBB Breakout Board with Teensy Installed This Teensy 4.1 is built to work with the popular T41U5XBB breakout board for CNC motion control for devices like routers, mills, lasers and lathes. grblHAL is the 32-bit version of the open source machine control code Grbl originally designed for the Arduino. The 32-bit 600MHz Teensy 4.1 enables significantly higher performance over the original Arduino platforms. Additional information about the T41U5XBB breakout board and its application along with ordering info can be found at this link. https://www.grbl.org/grblhal-breakout-board The Teensy 4.1 is assembled with low-profile male headers and bottom mounted Ethernet pins. It can either be soldered directly to the breakout board or it can be socketed using the low-profile sockets that are included. Package Includes: Teensy 4.1 with low-profile pins installed and male Ethernet header installed on the bottom side. Qty 2 – 1×24 low profile female sockets for optionally socketing the Teensy 4.1 Qty 1 – 2×3 2mm female socket for optionally socketing the Ethernet pins Pinout diagram Build Specifics: T41U5XBB Breakout Board example installation Since CNC machines can be high vibration environments, the use of low-profile sockets or soldering directly to the breakout board helps to minimize the chance of intermittent contact caused by vibration as compared to normal height sockets. The benefit of using the sockets is that it allows for the Teensy 4.1 to be replaced separately from the breakout board should a failure occur. The trade-off is that it does not provide quite as good of vibration resistance as compared to soldering the Teensy 4.1 directly to the breakout board. Unless high vibration is expected, socketing the Teensy is usually the safer option. Due to their short plastic bodies, the 1×24 pin female sockets may have a slight bow to them. The plastic housing has a memory, so you cannot just bend them straight before soldering. For best pin alignment, be sure to press the connector flat during soldering. This is usually easiest if a pin or two on one end is soldered into the board and then the far end of the connector is pressed against the board while soldering a pin or two on that end before soldering the rest of the pins. Alternatively the female sockets can be preinstalled onto the pins on the Teensy to help hold them flat and then soldered in as an assembly. For socketed applications, the 2×3 female Ethernet socket is soldered to the baseboard. For full details on the Teensy 4.1 please refer to the full Teensy 4.1 Product Page. Before they are shipped, the Teensy 4.1 has: Flash gold-plated male low-profile header pins installed Flash gold-plated male 2×3 Ethernet header installed Board is cleaned of flux Packaged in resealable ESD bag for safe storage. Kitted with low-profile header kit Teensy Warranty: The warranty only covers manufacturing defects. We guarantee that the Teensy 4.1 will operate correctly when first received out of the bag. We encourage you to connect the Teensy 4.1 to a USB cable and download ‘Blink’ or other simple test program to verify the unit is basically functional upon receipt. Once it is installed into the baseboard and possibly subjected to shorts or other possible damaging electrical signals due to assembly or wiring errors, there is no guarantee that the Teensy 4.1 won’t fail during use. Failures of this type are not covered by warranty. For help in troubleshooting grblHAL system level issues, please refer to the links under Further Reading. International Customers: We directly ship within the USA only. For international customers, we recommend creating a free account on myus.com which is a package forwarding service. We recommend myus.com as we have shipped hundreds of packages through them without issue, but there are many other package forwarders that can also be used if you already have an account setup elsewhere. Once you sign up for an account, they will provide you with a USA address to use on the order since our website won’t accept international addresses. This address includes a suite number which identifies your packages when they arrive at myus.com. Please use this address for both the shipping and billing address. The website will take international credit cards or PayPal. We then ship the package to myus.com which takes about 2-3 days if you chose the $12.95 Priority Mail shipping and 5-6 days if you chose $6.95 USPS Ground Advantage shipping. They then take care of getting the package to you overseas. When the package arrives at myus.com, they will update it in your dashboard and send you an email to let you know that it arrived and to see how you want the package shipped overseas. This can range from postal to DHL Express. The package will weigh less than 1lb and they have cost estimators on their website for the different shipping services to your country at: myus.com/pricing/ This account can be used to purchase from any USA company that does not normally ship overseas. They will also consolidate multiple orders from different companies into one shipment to help reduce your costs.
